A Study of Epic

A Study of Epic

Life is a story - "I wonder what sort of tale we've fallen into, Mr. Frodo?" This the question that Samwise poses to Frodo in The Lord of the Rings as they embark on their adventure. Life is a story. Each day has a beginning and an end. Each year is like a chapter from a novel. Nothing makes sense without a story. Telling and hearing stories is how we figure things out.

Humans have a craving for a meaning to their life - (why are they here, what is their purpose, where are they going) a deep seated need to know the rest of the story. Story is the language of the heart. More than just relating facts - stories nourish us, shed light on our lives. To truly get to know someone you need to know their story. And in an attempt to understand our own lives, many of us have gone to someone else with our stories. All humans share the same questions - Who am I? Why am I here? What is life all about? What is your story? What is THE STORY?

This series is based on the book, Epic, by John Eldredge. It is a compelling look at the greatest Story, and how we fit into it. It contains all the elements of a great story or epic adventure - love, betrayal, a villian, a hero...and a happily ever after!
